Hi hockeybabe, welcome!

Marvelon® (desogestrel / ethinylestradiol) is sold as Desogen® in the US. See http://www.organon.com/products/contraception/marvelon.asp

Does this help?

Hockeybabe-you said your friend was having issues while on Marvelon, what kind of issues? I ask b/c i'm on it as well and have found that it gives me headaches and depression. I don't know if it's from the BC or not, but i am always a happy person and have felt emotionally down and sad for no reason at times. Does this sound familiar?

oh, well Marvelon has higher estrogen in it than Ortho, but hopefully it will work for her better than it does for me!

Actually, I think marvelon/desogen has lower estrogen, 30 mcg, than Ortho Tri-Cyclen which has 35 mcg. For the amounts of estrogen is some monophasic and triphasic pills see http://www.wdxcyber.com/ncontr13.htm
