Breast pain

I am having a huge problem with Ortho Cyclen making my breasts a drastically larger and being extremely painful. They are so sore it hurts to walk down stairs, all my bras are tight and i spill out of them and over all i feel pudgy, yet I work out everyday and eat healthy. This has been a problem that i have faced while taking birth control over the last few years. As soon as i go off them, everythings back to normal. I feel less bloated, my breasts go back to normal and no problems. Why is that? Has anyone else had these side effects? I have tried Ortho Cyclen, Ortho Tri Cyclen, Ortho Evra, Tri Norinyl, and one other and still havent found that one perfect pill. I have a hard time believing that these hormones dont affect everyone differently and for some, possibly causing some weight gain and other complications and was wondering what other women are going through also.

I think it is the estrogen that makes some women retain fluid. If you are new to Ortho Cyclen then you should allow at least 3 cycles for your body to become used to the new hormones. If you have been on Cyclen for a while and are still having the problem then you might want to consider trying Yasmin. It has a different progestin that has some diuretic properties that might help with fluid retention and 5 mcg less estrogen than Ortho Cyclen as well.
Good luck
Jill
