changed my BC to generic, gots some ?'s

hi there.. okay so i take ortho tri cyclen right now, so i go to get my next month perscription and they give me the generic. My insurence no longer covers brand names. It is called tri sprintec, i have never heard of it. They pharmasist said it will work exactly the same and isnt different. So has anyone tried it? Do generics really work as well. I am kinda weary of it, if it doesnt work and i do get pergant i am screwed. Should i just pay the hundred plus for ortho tri cyclen or what? Thanks!!!

Tri-Sprintec became available in late December of 2003 so it’s very new. It is the bioequivalent of OTC so its effectiveness will be the same but there may be some very slight differences in the formulation that will give you different side effects for a few weeks. You can search the archives for posts about it. If I remember correctly most of them were asking the same questions you did.
Good luck
Jill
