Nervous, please help!

Hello! I was on birth control for 7 months and just went off a little over 2 months ago. Me and my boyfriend have been using condoms with spermicide. The first day of my last period was January 29th. We had sex on February 14th and the condom broke but he pulled out. I should be due for my period sometime this week but I am getting nervous now because even though he pulled out, I am scared what if some got inside of me? I am not real good with figuring out when I ovaluate so I am wondering if by my calculations above, if I was in the danger zone. Also, are condoms with spermacide better against protecting pregnancy then the ones without? Also, is there a chance that the pill might still be in my system since I went off them a short time ago? We had sex this past weekend and my bf said he saw a little blood on the condom. I am hoping that was just because I was a little tight because I know it wasn't my period. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Withdrawl DOES work for some people, but it doesn't for a lot too. I think it depends partly on how early he pulls out & partly on how much pre-ejaculate he has *that* time - I know my husband varies from one time to the next.

I really think you should do yourself a favor & get a bit more trustworthy form of birth control going! Also, I know it is too late now... but don't forget, if you have another condom incident, there is Emergency Contraception.

I am thinking of going back on the pill. Maybe I'll just try another kind to see if my side effects are less severe then last time. My boyfriend doesn't live with me so we just have intercourse on weekends (not saying my chances of getting pregnant are less) but when he moves in, I am assuming we would be doing to more frequently so I wouldn't relay on a condom as much. Have you ever had a condom break on you while you weren't on the pill? I did think about emer. contraceptive but I don't have a computer at home and this happend on a saturday night. So, I wasn't sure how to go about getting it. My doctor is in Philly and I live in NJ and she doesn't have weekend house. Anyway, do you know what a leutal phase means? I am trying to go on one of those ovaluation calendars and it tells me to put that in.

The ovulation calendars that I’m familiar with aren’t really accurate. They deal in averages and very few of us are average. Unless you are charting your basal body temp, cervical fluids and cervical position there is no accurate way to know when you ovulate.

THe Luteal Phase is the phase of the menstrual cycle from ovulation to the beginning of your next period. It typically lasts from 12 to 16 days, but rarely varies more than a day or two within individual women. An excellent book on the menstrual cycle is Toni Weschler’s Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You can check it out at your local library or get a copy at a bookstore far about 30 US$.

Good luck
