Question about nuva ring and genital her
| Mon, 02-23-2004 - 3:37pm |
I was just curious if anybody can tell me or point me in the dirrection of any studies of the nuva ring and if the hormones may effect the genital herepes virus to become active and induse outbreaks? I just started the nuva ring about 3 weeks ago and I already new that I was positive for the virus but I never had any problems before. After being on the Nuva Ring for about a week I had my first outbreak and I am just wondering if there might be a relation bteween the two somehow. I have been told that hormones can cause and outbreak and I don't know it that is true or not. I have always been on birthcontrol (patch, & pill) and never had any problems.
Any input is greatly appriciated!
Thanks!

I haven't heard of anything, but if hormones can cause outbreaks, it wouldn't seem too unusual that you might have one while you're adjusting to the new hormones and delivery.
That and getting Upper Resiportoy Infections & Sinisutis. I can tell you since November I have been sick and no rhyme or reason for it, because no one I am around is sick.
Best of luck, I am switching to the patch or something with low estrogen.
