Minipill and the Disappearing Period

I've been on Micronor for a few months now. The second week I was on it, I had my period which lasted for 8 days. Seven days later my period was back, but a little lighter. That was the last I saw of it. It's been 7 weeks now. Two weeks ago I did a pregnancy test, which was negative. Has anyone else experienced this on Micronor? I'm kind of enjoying not having a period after 17 years of heavy ones that lasted a minimum of a week apiece (plus I have an allergy to pads), but how long should I wait before I contact my doctor? Thanks.

A progestin only pill such as Micronor can lighten or stop the periods in some women. The patient information that comes with your pills should mention that. Your experience sounds about normal to me. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. However, if I were you I would talk with your doc or nurse just to let him or her know what is happening and get their advice.
Good luck
Jill
