Nuvaring concern/question

Hi - I'm considering switching from the patch to the Nuvaring because of ongoing headaches. The doc thinks the lower estrogen in the ring may help. Also, I'm nervous to try the ring because I 'm afaid it will be uncomfortable. I don't like tampons and even though the ring is smaller I'm not sure what to expeect. Any thoughts? Thanks!

First of all, I recommend Nuvaring to anyone. Its great. I also never felt comfortable using tampons either. I went to my doctor and he recommended the Nuvaring because I was getting tired of having to remember every day to take the pill. He told me he would insert one in the office for me to try for a month. I thought I was going to feel it, but I didn't. It continuosly give you low-dose birth control hormones so you don't get the side effects of most other BC's. Also, you can use the ring for a full four weeks to avoid menstruation altogether.

And if your wondering about its effect on sex, my husband has never felt it. And if your hubby thinks he feels it, my doc told me you can remove it for sex, making sure you re-insert afterward.

At nuvaring.com there is a voucher for a free ring (which lasts one month).

Give it a try!

I'm on the ring and you can not feel it at all. I don't use tampons either and I was worried about putting it in and feeling it, but I forget it's even in.
