Pregnant or Cramps All Month Long?

I've been on the pill for 6 months. I usually have cramps the two weeks before I have my period everyday. I just finished my period last week and I've been having cramps every day since. So now I'm wondering am I going to have cramps everyday of the month now or could I be pregnant? My boyfriend did ejaculate in me during my period which was also my not active week so now I'm wondering could I already be having cramps 1 day after my period ends b/c I'm pregnant or now my pills are making me have cramps all month long. Could I have gotten pregnant right before my egg broke which is why I'm already having cramps? Should I call my gyno and switch? Help, I'm so confused.

Hi Prinni,

If you have been taking your pills correctly: on time, haven’t been sick and thrown up or had diarrhea within 2 hours of taking your pill and aren’t taking meds. or supplements that could reduce the effectiveness of your pills, then you should be very safe. If you have been taking your pills correctly you are also protected during the 7 24-hour days before you start the active pills of the next pack even if he ejaculates inside you. I don’t think you are pregnant but if you are beginning to have cramps all the time, then that is something you should talk to your doc about. S/he might want to run some tests to see if there is something other than menses that is causing your discomfort. I hope you’re feeling better soon.

Hugs,
