Symptoms after stopping the pill?

I recently stopped taking my birth control pills and was wondering about symptoms that might cause. I've got this weird full-like feeling, I'm very tired, and sometimes I feel nauseous. Is that normal? I was on the pill for 4 years or so and just stopped taking them in the last 2 weeks. I was pretty slack with them for the last month I was on the pill. Missing a couple a week, not taking them at the same time everyday, etc. Could that also be affecting these "symptoms?" I'm not trying to get pregnant, just taking a birth control break. Any suggestions or advice from other previous pills users is welcome. Thanks!

Hi, and welcome!

I had been taking OTC for 3 years when I stopped and I felt wonderful, so much more alive and full of energy in just a few days, within a week! Were you having IC the last month when you weren’t taking your pills correctly? If so, did your period come on time? If it didn't, you might want to test just to see where you are.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice! You asked if I was having IC last month. It's probably something really obvious but I can't place it - what did you mean by "IC?" I should just take a pregnancy test and get it over with but that kind of scares me. Thank you again for the imput.

Sorry, I meant intercourse or sex. If there is any question about it, putting off testing won't make it any easier. I know it's scary but you need to know as soon as possible where you stand, to give you time to decide among your options. I hope you get the result you want.

Hugs,
