Hello, I have a question I hope that someone could help me. I missed the last active pill of my previous pack (ortho-tri-cyclen)I do not take my inactive pills during my period week. I started my new pack at the regular time. Now I have been reading that there is a seven day rule, and I could have break-through ovulation during this time of missed pills. I feel pre-men. but I don't know if I could be pregnant. I missed a total of 8 days. Can anyone help!!

Thank you

I dont know if this well help at all but I also take ortho tri and it says if you miss any pills 1-14 than to double so say you missed monday remembered tuesday than take monday and tuesday, also I am very absent minded and I once forget to take my pills for 3 days!!! and my period started on the third day. I believe all that will happen when you miss one or any active pill is it increases your chance for the pill not to work. But you where really close to your inactive pills and if you got your period than I am sure everything is alright

Extending your pill-free week to 8 days is a risk. No one can tell you the probability, but you do open yourself up to a higher risk of ovulating.

It would likely be best to use backup for the first 7 days of the new pack.

Good Luck! Hope it all turns out OK.

I totally agree! Happyjusttwo is right on. It would be a good idea to use back-up until you have correctly taken 7 days of active pills.

Good luck
