Emotional b/c of antibotics w/the pill?

I had to take antibiotics last week b/c of a wisdom tooth. I have been very cautious with using another form of protection b/c I know that antibiotics interfere with BC. Now, my question is, could it be possible that the anitibiotics have cancelled out the BC so much that it has affected my emotions? Last week I was in a very bitchy mood. This week I'm fine though. Just wondering if it would have made that much of an impact.

Interesting theory. I'm not sure. I would think stress, from the wisdom tooth proceedure itself, was a big contributor. Also, I'm sensitive to antibiotics. Sometimes certain kinds will make my heart race, or will make my stomach queezy. Your body just might have had a mild reaction, which set your emotions on edge.

I didn't actually get the tooth extracted. I had an infection on it b/c it was partially out, so they gave me the amoxicillin. I'm really sensitive to anti-biotics too.

Ah, I'd be willing to bet it was the infection paired with the antibiotics! Next time, you might talk to your doctor or pharmacist about taking a probiotic with or after the antibiotic. Antibiotics will kill some of the good bacteria in your digestive tract, which can make you feel really "off." Probiotics, like Lactinec (OTC, but get it from your pharmacist, because it has to be refrigerated) or DanActive, in the dairy section of some supermarkets and health food stores, are both really good.
