What has your experience with it been? I have problems with a lot of weight gain/appetite increase with levonorgestrel/triphasil, and lots of crying/mood problems with ortho triclen. I wanted to be put on Mircette but they don't have it here. I would like to know how much of these hormones are released compared to the 20 mg pills and also how much estrogen. I have been searching the family practice notebook but they don't have anythong on ortho evra. Any one have problems with the pill like me and have the patch work out for them? I am considering ordering Mircette if I have to....so far I have just had mild dizziness/mild headache mixture. I haven't been on any hormone other than Mirena for over 10 years so I am ultra nervouse. Thanks!

I had a VERY negative expirence on the patch. I was on OrthoEvra for three months and it was horrible. The patch never, EVER stayed on, it fell off every week no matter what I tried. It left awful red rashes for weeks after I removed it. When it wasn't falling off it was bubbling and peeling and I was paranoid that it wasn't giving me full protection. Besides all that I had unbearable migraines weekly, my breast swelled from a B cup to an overflowing C cup. Sounds cool right? NOT! They hurt to even look at them, they were SO tender. Along with that I would spend two day vomitting after I put my first patch on for the month. It was terrible! I hated it! The only thing the patch did positively was made my period extremely predictable, which I loved.

I went to my Doctors and she said I was overly sensitive to synthetic estrogen and I went on the ring. I love it! I've been on the ring since July, and it's wonderful, I have no side effects what so ever!

Goodluck, I hope this helps, and I hope everyone understands that just because the patch was hell for me, doesn't mean it doesn't work well for other women.

Thanks everyone! I hope more people post their experiences as well. So far I have only had it on 24 hours and its not bad at all. Sometimes I get a slight headache/sick to my stomach combination but its not at all as bad as what I would get with ortho tricyclen when I first started taking that. (10 years ago). I am hoping and praying that this ist he worst of what I experience. It would be a godsend if this works out for me because I could cut back on my acne meds and pms medication as well after a few months. Take care and I really appreciate positive and negative feedback ......it all helps me. Take care...oh by the way, if the patch didn't work for you, what pill did? Thanks,

Tricia

I just started the patch also and so far I LOVE it! Before I switched to it I asked around and talked to some other women I knew who were on it to get their input. I haven't had one come off, or get loose, which is good considering I have really put it to the test -- I work out 5-6 times a week plus I have a hot tub that I love to soak in pretty much every night, and the patch has not budged. I also haven't experienced any negative reactions to it. Everyone is different though, some women have had horrible reactions to the patch, while it works just great for me. You'll just have to find what works for you! Hope this helps...
