Using the pill to move your period?

I'm getting married in May, and normally my period would start about 7 days after my wedding date (not good!) so I'm wanting to move my period so that it ends a few days BEFORE my wedding. Any ideas on how to do that? I just got the Pill and will be starting it on Friday and my Dr says that that will move it already, but if I need to change it more, how do I go about doing that? I feel like such a dunce when it comes to BC. Help!

You need to sit down with a calendar & figure out when your period will fall, according to the pills (period in the fourth week of the pack). When your cycle would naturally be has no bearing here!

If you need to move your period for your wedding (I did that!), it is best to do so before then, rather than trying to skip your period for your wedding, as it may not work. You start a new package of pills immediately after finishing the active pills (first three weeks) of your pack. Be prepared for spotting or breakthrough bleeding if you do this, your body may not be willing to go six weeks between periods instead of three. I would say that since you won't have been on the pill very long, unpredictable bleeding is even more likely, as many women experience it in the first three months anyway. Irregular bleeding does not mean your pregnancy-prevention is compromised, it is just annoying!!! I would try to schedule your period for the week before your wedding, if you have time to do so.

Did this make sense to you?

Good Luck with your scheduling & enjoy your wedding!!!
