Skipping period on Mircette ... is it ok

Hi ... I am getting married in July and have figured out that my period is due 2 days before the wedding :( Of course I do *not* want this to happen and wanted to try skipping a period before then to back date my cycle ... I took my last 'active' pill for my current pack today, and am already feeling my period coming on (tiredness, tenderness etc.) Is it safe to skip being that I am already feeling the symptoms of my period ... especially since I am on a low dose pill such as Mircette? Has anyone done this on Mircette?? It is not imperative that I skip this month, and I am still scared to do so being it seems as if my body is prepping for my period. Help!

Thanks in advance

You should be able to skip since its monophasic (they call it biphasic because a few of the pills that should be placebo pills aren't truly placebo pills....they have like 5 mg of estrogen or something....I haven't read the amount in awhile but they only have estrogen not progesterone in a few of those "placebo" pills where you shoudln't be getting any hormones at all). So if you skip all the placebo pills/plus the ones with estrogen only in them, then you would in theory not be telling your body to start your period yet. If you read the directions that came with the packet you will be able to find out which ones have estrogen in them.

It wouldn't be unsafe to skip, but it might be uncomfortable.

I've been on Mircette for couple of years now, and have safely skipped my period several times without any problems. I also confirmed it with my doctor that it was safe.

I skipped mine a few months back because I didnt want to have one. It worked successfully for me. I did notice though the next month my period moved ahead one day, but other than that I was fine.
