A question for the knowledgable...

First of all, let me apologize in advance for my general lack of knowledge. Im not exactly experienced in these sort of things.
I know my girlfriend has been on a pill (birth control), although im not sure which one, for atleast a year. Im sure I could find out, but generally, how safe is it for us to have unprotected sex, concerning pregnancy, not STD's (Not worried about those).
I know it's not a "mini Pill" ive heard about, but anything other than that, I dont know.
Thanks in advance...
Peon

It’s nice to see a guy interested in contraception. If your gf has been taking her pills correctly; on time (within +/- 2 hours of her pill-time), hasn’t been sick and vomited or had diarrhea within 2 hours after taking her pill and isn’t taking medicines (antibiotics and anti-seizure meds) or supplements that would interfere with the pills effectiveness then she is very safe. Typically the pills effectiveness is 98-99% when taken correctly. That help?
Good luck
Jill
