Pill to patch...

Okay, I had been on the pill for a couple years now. Have tried a couple different ones, but as soon as the patch was available in Canada I wanted to switch! So, I finished a pack of pills, had my seven days off, then instead of starting a new pack, I went right to the patch. I had assumed that I could do this because I have just been thinking that it was basically the same thing, same system of 3 weeks on, 1 week off....

It is now the second week of being on the patch, day 3, and my breasts are extremely sore. Kinda feeling like "pregnancy boobs". Been there and done that 3 times, so I know the feeling! I just read on the ortho site that I should have started the patch on the first day of my period, and now I'm getting kind of nervous. What do you all think? What have you done to switch from pill to patch? Think a pregnancy is possible or was the fact that I've been on the pill religously (since the birth of last child, almost 4 yrs ago) enough to get me through? Time to go to bed and dh is kind of aprehensive/frustrated/po'ed about this...I don't think he's going to be putting any moves on me till my next period!!

Thanks for any insight

Thanks Judie, I needed that bit of reassurance! I hate doubting myself because I usually pride myself on knowing my own body so well... Thank you!

Great minds must think alike -- I also recently switched to the patch after years on BCs, also in my third day of my second week! I also have really sore breasts, my doc said this is normal and should go away after my body becomes accustomed to the new hormones. I KNOW I'm not PG becuase my husband has been gone on business -- don't worry, I'm sure you're OK!
