Question for patch users (placement)

I went for my annual exam yesterday and spoke with my doctor about possibly going on the patch. I asked her about possibilities of it falling off. She said that she hasn't had many women have that happen to them that she knows of.

Anyway, my question is, in your experience so far, where is/was the best place to put the patch to keep it from falling off? I don't really like the idea of wearing it on my arm because of bathing suit season and short sleeve/tank top weather coming up and on my back, seems like it would be hard to reach. I was thinking my butt or abs, but a lot of people seem to have had problems with putting it on their butt. Any tips?

Also, how do you know how much lifting is too much?

Thanks.

Hi sc,

I'm like you - don't like it on my arm.

Thanks for your advice. I'm really leaning toward putting it on my butt right now. Glad to know you only have had one come off. I thought about abs, too, but the only problem is I work out my abs a lot and seems like situps and stuff would really make it wrinkle. I actually start on it on March 21 so I'll be sure and let you know how it works for me and if I have any problems with it sticking. And I'm sure I'll have a few more questions by that time, too. :)

Thanks so much for your help. Very reassuring to know that it's worked well for you there.

Hi. I put it on my lower stomach. At the time, my thinking was, was that that was the closest to the reproductive organs, so it would be more effective faster, lol. (We were anxious to become sexually active). I have never had it fall off. Even when I soak in the tub for long amounts of time, it doesn't fall off. I think it's rigged that way. I do, however, get a ring of dirt around the patch area, just like with a bandaid. It's no big deal tho.

Also, when I first went on it, I had sore breasts constantly for two or three weeks straight.

Putting the patch on as like a diamond instead of a square has worked great! I have been on the patch for about 6 months and have always had problems with it coming off early and getting really yucky from lint. Since I started putting it on like a diamond I have had NONE of these problems.

Thank you so much!
