hi everyone!
i'm supposed to start my period within a few days, and my symptoms are pretty much the same as my normal PMS, but i do feel quite a bit more sick than i usually do. i've been on the pill now for over a year. early in this cycle i missed a pill, but only by a few hours, and i took is as soon as i realized i'd forgotten. this was the first time i had ever forgotten. so i'm just wondering, even though i'm sure i'm not pregnant, i think, what the actual chances are of getting pregnant after missing a pill. does the chance increase if you miss it by a whole day?
thanks!

Being a few hours late with a combined pill (estrogen and progestin) shouldn’t be a big deal. Missing a pill by a whole day could be. The FDA is currently proposing changes to OC labeling guidelines that will recommend using back-up for 7 days if a single pill is missed. Apparently there were enough documented instances of pregnancy after one pill was missed that the FDA thinks the guidelines should be changed. Hope you are feeling better.
Take care
