Tuesday I start the 3rd patch. I am tempted not to use it/start it. What would you do? Ugthghg.*btw, I am almost 29 and never ever had a weight problem in my life except when I was put on triphasil at age 17 and gained 40 lbs in 3 months! Ughg. I quite and never took the pill again until now over 10 years later and am totally freaked out.

I know it's easier said than done sometimes, but I wouldn't be concerned over 10 lbs.

Thats the thing. Before being on oral contraceptives/when I am not, I never crave more than my body needs. In fact I forget to eat and when I do eat I only eat until I am full. Now I feel like I am starving. Its extremely difficult not to eat when your body is telling you it is starving.

Oh yeah, water weight or not, I don't think so....not when my pants that used to be loose on me are tight and my stomach hangs over. This is pathetic. I just ordered 3 new pairs of pants for 160 dollars and am not going to get fat.

That's very true...an exercise in torture, I think.

Thanks I appreciate it. I am not sure what to do. I know if I call they will tell me to give it a full 3 months before I give up which is exactly how I got preggers each time with both of my kids ......because I coudln't in no way tolerte it for two more months. My husband has a vasectomy now so that is not a worry but my period is 13 days for the past 3 years so I desperately tried the patch as a last option. I've read that a 20 mcg and desogestrel pill actually showed the least amount of weight gain in studies and some weight loss after about six months so I am going to try Mircette perhaps just to see if I notice a change in appetite. The military pharmacy doesn't carry it but you can order it online for pretty cheap. I guess they say the patch is similar/equivelent to orthocept or orthocyclen, I can't remember which one (in side effects and hormone secretions). I was told to go in for follow up after two full cycles because of the huge weight gain I got with triphasil in 3 months follow up time. Its kind of embarrassing. I never have had problems with weight other than then and I have weighed 10 lbs less than in highschool ever since the birth of my 2nd child. High school was over 10 years ago so I honestly feel I don't personally have an eating problem/weight problem and the appetite change really bothers me. I am not sure how much of it is bloating. I weigh myself every single day but my pants are awfully tight which they never ever were before.
