I have been on the Pill for almost a year now. My Boyfriend and I just recently had intercourse without a condom for the first time. I am very faithful in taking my pill at the same time everyday. Is it possible that I could be pregnant? Help..

While it is *possible* to get pregnant while taking birth control pills, it is HIGHLY unlikely. The pill has an effectiveness rate of 99 % or 99.9%, depending on where you get your statistics from. This means that in one year of use, 1 in 100 or 1 in 1000 women will get pregnant, even though they are taking the pill *perfectly*. Perfectly means at the same time everyday (within +/- 2 hours), no vomiting or diarrhea within 2 hours of taking the pill, & no other meds that may interfere with the pills effectiveness (some antibiotics, St. John's Wort, etc.).

Condoms aren't foolproof either - only abstinence is. If you're sure you're taking your pills correctly, try not to worry!
