BC with no health insurance??

Hi, everyone,

This is probably common knowledge, but I'm new to being without health coverage. I'm between jobs after seven years, and not sure how I'll afford my upcoming gyno visit and BC pills. Can anyone advise me on alternative or lower-cost gyno visits/ways to obtain birth control? This would NOT be a good time to become pregnant!

I know there are other forms of contraception, but pills are the only method

I actually trust.

Any help/advice is appreciated by (clueless) me!

Thanks!

I was in the same boat for a looooong time. I would research clinics in your area. For the place I went to, there was always a very long wait, and it was hard to get appointments, but it was my only option. You also need proof of income (or last there of). It was a lot cheaper then a regular doctor, and really helped me out for a long time.

goodluck.

Hi todash, welcome!

I would look for a Planned Parenthood clinic near you. Check their clinic locations at Planned Parenthood in the U.S. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/Zip.htm or Planned Parenthood in Canada http://www.ppfc.ca/ On the Canadian site the link to the location finder is in the upper right hand corner. PP has income based pricing if you qualify.

Good luck

Thanks so much, girls!

I feel much better about it now (and not as clueless!)
