Stopped Pill.....period late??

I just stopped taking the pill, and keeping with my regular schedule, I should have gotten my period 4 days ago. I didn't know if because my body is adjusting to the new hormone levels, if it is possible to be late without going into a panic.

I am having some cramping so I thought I would have gotten my period by now. But I am beginning to get a bit worried. Just wondering if anyone has had the same experience or if maybe my fears could be justified.

Thanks.

When I stopped my pills last summer, my first period took 34 days to arrive. It is pretty normal for it to take a while for your hormones to sort themselves out. Do you remember how long your cycle was when you were cycling naturally before you were on the pill? This *could* be an indication of how your cycles will be now, but there are no guarantees.

Have you been using a reliable form of birth control since you stopped your pills? If not, pregnancy is an option.

The cramping that you are having is likely an indication that your period is coming. Hang in there!

It's very common for a woman just coming off the pill to have a few months where her periods are irregular while her body figures out how to ovulate again.
