sex with f. condom that leaked

okay, i have been on my bc patch and the last time I wore a batch was the first week of march....well, i had sex with the female condom on saturday and apparently it leaked because when I touched down there after sex, I could smell his sperm (it smells like bleach). So, Sunday night I put on TWO NEW PATCHES because I was really scared! but I waited until sunday and sunday is is my patch change day BUT I have been off the patch for a week and a half1 help! will the double patches on sunday help?

I am slightly confused.... you had sex at the end of your patch free week? Had you gone any more than 7 - 24 hour days without a patch? If you had been less than 7 days without a patch, you should be protected from pregnancy. If it had been more than 7 days, there is a chance you could have ovulated & been at risk.
Hormonal contraception after the fact does not prevent pregnancy, with the exception of emergency contraception, which is a very large dose of hormones to try to disrupt things. The hormones (of regular hormonal contraceptives) need to be in your body BEFORE you have sex.... long enough for them to have prevented ovulation.
Good Luck!
I agree with happyjusttwo. If you had been more that 7 24-hour days without your patch I don’t think applying 2 patches gained you much. My guess is they may not have been enough. The reason I say that is on the EC site http://ec.princeton.edu/worldwide/countryquery.asp It calls for taking 4 Nordette pills each containing 30mcg of estrogen and .15mg of progestin as soon after IC as possible and another 4 12-hours later. Each Ortho Evra patch releases only 20mcg of estrogen and .15 mg of progestin over a 24 hour period. At this point (5 days later) it is too late to try EC, which has lowered effectiveness between 3 and 5 days after the event.
One problem with the FC is that if he slips out (unless you both are careful) he can re-penetrate you outside the sheath. Did you actually see that the female condom had torn? It may be that you smelled his semen from the condom sheath attached to the large outer ring of the FC and none spilled on your labia. If that is the case you may be safe. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
