Just wondering if anyone has tried Ortho-tri cyclin Lo? Is it any different from Ortho-tri cyclin and does anyone like it? Thanks I am switching to this pill soon.

I'm on OTC lo and haven't had any complaints. Took me about 2-3 months to get used to them, but thats normal for any type of pill. I have no idea how similar it is to OTC, as I've only been on one pill. Good luck!

Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo is the same as Ortho Tri Cyclen EXCEPT that Lo has 25mcg of estrogen and OTC has 35mcg.

I just switched and am finishing my second pack of pills. So far, so good. I had horrible experiences with the regular OTC, so I was nervous, but really wanted something with as low a hormone level as possible, and this is what the doc recommended. The moodiness isn't as bad (yet - I'm still under "observation") and that's my biggest concern. I haven't noticed any difference in my cycle itself or in my skin clarity, but those were never really a problem for me anyhow. Good Luck!

Does it also help with clearing up your skin like ortho tri cyclin does?

Thanks

From what I understand, ALL bc pills can help with your skin, just as ALL bc pills have the *potential* to wreck it - it's that everyone responds differently. And, OTC is the only one to have paid for studies *proving* that it *can* help, KWIM? I would imagine that the Lo has the same possibility of helping as any other bc pill does. But, unless Ortho pays another laboratory to study it, it won't be able to *claim* that it does.

I have had mild-to-moderate acne my whole life, and have never noticed any pill I was on to make that any worse or any better. But then, I don't care about how bad my outbreaks are so I never pay any attention to them. Some of them have had *other* skin side-effects, though. The nordette I was on for years made me grow a moustache! Not coarse like a man's, but definitely more upper-lip hair than I was comfortable with. Now that I've switched, it's gotten noticeably better. Hopefully, DH won't have anything to tease me about there in a couple of months more.

Well, this thread just shows how every single woman reacts to every different pill...differently!

I went on OTC Lo at first, because I knew that I'd been soooo sick during prior pregnancy, and my OB thought maybe I was estrogen sensitive. But I felt like a crazy deranged lunatic on that pill! AND my face broke out badly. I thought it would help, but it only made my blemishes worse.

I switched to OTC regular and my moods leveled out noticably, thought not completely.

The thought was that perhaps OTC Lo's particular ratio of progestin to estrogen was simply not good for me.

Now I am on Micronor and I feel pretty good. I'll be avoiding combination pills that contain synthetic estrogen from here on out. I am just mental on them. LOL (oh, and my DH can attest to that!)
