Is it Endometriosis??

So, I guess this question would go out to doctors or people with Endometriosis. I have had breakthrough bleeding for the past 2 years. Doctors can't seem to find a problem with me. I have read about endometriosis and some people I talk to say it could be that. I have read up on it and don't know anymore. You see, I have been on 3 different birth controls the last 2 years. I just recently started Ortho-Tricyclen-Lo and the problem is still accuring. The first week after my peoriod I don't bleed at all. Then the rest of the month it seems like I am on my period. It is getting worse! What should I do? HELP!

Which three BCPs have you been on? CL-Judie Rae is very knowledgeable about OCs and might be able to suggest some that are different from the ones you have already tried. Did you ask your docs about the possibility of Endo? What meds. are you taking for your Ulcerative Colitis?
If you think you could have endo. and you haven’t visited it already you might want to take a look at the iVillage Endometriosis and Fibroids board http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhendomet and also the Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis board http://messageboards.ivillage.com/iv-bhcrohns
Thanks for stopping by.

I cant comment on whether it is endometriosis or not, but I can comment on progestin activity. The higher the progestin activity of a bcp, the better it is at controlling BTB. OTClo has a low progestin activity(plus it is very low in estrogen which also effects btb), so it wouldnt be the best pill for BTB. The link below gives an outline on this problem(and you can look through the sidebar stuff for more info):

This link suggest pills that are best to suppress bleeding and names of pills also:
# Greatest suppression of bleeding
# Ovral
# Lo-Ovral
# Ortho Novum
# Ovcon
# Norlestrin
# Demulen 50
Have you been on any of the above? This is just something I was thinking about. I am certainly not a dr! Since they say they cant find anything wrong(I assume you have had tests done to see if there was endometriosis) maybe one of those pills would work for you if you havent already tried them. Let us know what happens!

Endometriosis can only be diagnosed by a doctor, it's not something that you can really just diagnose by talking to people.
