stopping pill and restarting...

I started Yasmin a year ago and decided to stop it for just a month to see if my chronic yeast infections (which occurred about 6 months after I started the pill) were due to Yasmin. I saw my doctor and she said that it maybe due to my constant tampon use (while on menses of course). I want to restart it again and was wondering if I will have the same side effects that I initially had when I started Yasmin (I know, I should have asked my doctor, but it slipped my mind). I was wanting to see if anyone has experienced such an event of stopping and starting the pill within a month. Thanks so much!

Hi lazelley, welcome!

I think you will probably experience the same side effects you did initially when you start Yasmin again. OCs can contribute to yeast infections. If that’s the case you might want to try a pill with less estrogen.

Good luck.

Thanks for replying. When I did go to my doctor she gave me Ortho-Tricyclen and it wasn't even the low one and this has more estrogen than Yasmin. I thought she was gonna give me the low estrogen and I agreed. When I left they handed me the regular Ortho. She must have been confused or forgotten I needed a lower dose. I hate Ortho. so I'm just gonna stick to my Yasmin. Thanks again!
