PMS on Seasonale?

I just started Seasonale three months ago because I had such a problem with PMS, and since you only get your period four times a year, that means you also only get PMS four times a year....nice improvement! But, I was just curious, with monophasic pills like this one, how does your body know when it's the week before your period??? Especially with Seasonale? I'm really wondering how it works, since the hormones don't change...why would women on monophasic pills still get PMS???

I've asked myself and professionals about that too....and nobody's got a definite answer!

Thanks for responding! I just had my first period on Seasonale and even though it was heavier and cramp-ier than I was used to with other pills, it only lasted three days. I think you're right about the body going through its own hormonal cycles. I did not have PMS the week before the placebos or even the days leading up to my period (which didn't start until Thursday of the placebo week). The only time I've felt PMS the three months I've been taking Seasonale was two weeks before my period. But, I was also attempting to start a low carb diet that week which may have just made me feel yukky and cranky!!! Anyway I feel like a much happier person now that I'm on Seasonale; I would really recommend it to anyone with PMS problems who takes BCPs. Thanks again for your response--I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders about these kinds of things! :)
