oK...So I started a new pack of pills when I got to the forth row of pills in order to skip my period because I was on vacation and dindn't want to deal with it. I have read in many places that this is safe to do. But now I am on my second week of pills in the new pack and have had light bleeding all week. I think I got my period while on the second week of pills. Is this normal?? What does it mean?

Some women can skip their periods that way and others can’t. It’s more likely to work on a monophasic pill, one with 21 days of the same dose pills. If you are already on a monophasic, then perhaps the progestin in your pill isn’t strong enough to keep your growing endometrium from beginning to shed after 4-5 weeks. If you really want to go back-to-back then you could try changing pills. However, if you like the pill you’re on think about it a bit first. Yes, you can always go back, but it will take 3-4 cycles on the new pill to see how well it is working for you. Your choice. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?
Good luck
