Changing time in taking pills
| Sun, 03-28-2004 - 4:34pm |
Hi,
I've been taking the Pills for almost two months now. It is a 28 pills (Desogen). I usually take the pills at 11 PM everyday, but i want to change that since sometimes I feel like to fall asleep before 11 PM.Today I'm on my 19 th pills (fifth day of my third week pills). Is it possible to change the time of taking the pills? when I supposed to change it?
Another question is, usually I had my period more that every 28 days.Do I have to continue taking my pills during my period or starting my new pack on the first day of my period or the first sunday of my period?
Thanks

You should go no more that 24 hours between active pills. If you want to change to an earlier time (for example: from 11:00 PM to 7:00 PM) then you can change at any time. If you wanted to change to a later time (for example: from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM) then you should move the time in one hour increments if you are changing times while taking active pills. Or, you could change the time all at once while on your 7 placebo pills.
If you are taking your pills correctly your period is now under control of the hormones in your pills so your old cycle schedule will no longer apply. You should get your period sometime during the 7 days of your placebo pill week. You can begin your new pack anytime during your placebo week. Its not necessary to take the placebo pills but many women find the placebos help them keep their pill-time habit and remember when to begin the next pack. Under no circumstances should you go more that 7 24-hour days without starting your new pack of pills. Make sense?
Good luck
Jill
