weird periods

Hi, it's my first time on this board. Here's my problem: I recently decided to post-pone my period by continuing with a new pack of BC pills. I was on the second week when I stopped the pack I was on and started a new one. I didn't have any problems, not even spotting. I took the last pill on a Friday and had to wait until the Wednesday to get my period, which is really unusual, and then it lasted for only 3 days, which is surreal for me who is usually stuck with it for a good 7 days. Well, anyway, I decided that it was probably playing with my cycle that confused my body and went on with a new pack. Now, I've taken another month of pills and this time, my period started on the Sunday. What is strange, is I bled in the afternoon of that day and not at all since then, it's been 24h without bleeding as I'm writing this message. I guess I should just wait and see, but I heard you can be pregnant and still get your period, so I'm scared. My boyfriend and I are so not ready to have kids, and that's why I'm being really carefull with my pill and I never skip it or forget it. Can playing with my cycle be the cause of those weird periods, even though I didn't change brands? I'm taking Alesse. Should I try an over the counter pregnancy test?
Thanks for your help,
Annie

Playing around with your pills to reschedule your period can definitely cause your period to be different. So long as you have taken your pills on time & haven't had vomiting/diarhea within two hours of taking any, you SHOULD be fine.
Pregnancy *can* happen on the pill, but it is really unlikely!!! If you've bled at all you are really unlikely to be pregnant. Periods do change from time to time anyway!!!
