changing the time of my pd

Hi All,
I'm on OTC, and I'd like to switch my period in August to be 2 weeks earlier. I cannot simply just skip my sugar pills because I'm on a tri-phasic pill. My body is also pretty sensitive, so I definitely know that taking an additional week of the 3rd week of active pills will not work. Any suggestions as to how to change it? I'm not that concerned about pregnancy protection right now. Thanks!

Have you tried taking two weeks of the 3rd week of OTC? And, it didn’t work for you? If you haven’t tried that I would and see if it works. Or, you could get a pack of Ortho Cyclen (sample from your doc?) which has 21 pills all the same strength as the 3rd week of OTC and try moving it two weeks that way.
If moving your period by extending your active pills won’t work well I think I’d still try moving it that way as it will maintain your protection. Another way is to delay starting a new pack which, I do not recommend doing, because it breeches your protection (you would need to use back-up) and it could cause more side effects because of the greater hormone level fluctuations. Or, you could cut you placebo week short by 3 or 4 days each cycle and move your period that way, if you have the time. You still have time before August to make the change. It’s good that you are thinking about moving it now. Let us know what you decide, ok?
Good luck
Jill
