I love Alesse!

Hi everyone---i know everyone's bodies are different and what works for some might not for others but i just wanted to give a shout out to Alesse! I've been on it 2 months now and the side effects have really not been much at all...i was very nauseous about the first 10 days, and moody and depressed too, but since then i've been great. Sex is so much better now that i'm not freaked out all the live long day! I have had HORRIBLE experiences with hormones and stuff (had endometriosis for several years) so i was very anti-pill but i am more anti-pregnancy (at this stage in my life). I swallowed the bitter pill and found it to not be so bitter! Yay!! No weight gain or sex drive drop either. A TAD drier down there, but not much difference really.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in!

I was interested to see what you had to say about Alesse! I actually just started it a little over a week ago. I've been experiencing a bit of nausea as well, and I'm normally pretty moody and have mood swings a lot but, they seem to be more intense since I started the pill. I was glad to read that you experienced the same thing and that it didn't last. And VERY glad to hear you had no weight gain or loss of sex drive :) I have a friend on Alesse who reported the same thing.

Of course, I know it's early and everyone's body is different, but it's still encouraging to hear of others' positive experiences! :D

i dont think i should be on alesse.

i was on it a couple years ago and went off last august. and i remember being such a b!tch and really moody in high school and last year i went through a couple months of depression. since the summer i haven't been so emotional and i remember being a lot happier. and i just went back on it again (this is month 2) and my face started breaking out like crazy and i dont have patience for anything anymore. i know everyone's like wait 3 months until your body can adjust to the pills but after the 3 months will it get better, worse or remain the same??

I was on Alesse a few years ago and I loved it, too. I didn't notice any changes in anything except that I wouldn't get any cramps during my period and it made the flow less heavy. I'm on Ortho Tricyclen-Lo, about to switch to Nuvaring. If it doesn't work out for me, I will definately go back on Alesse!

What are the estrogen and progestin (levels and types) in Alesse?

I'd like to compare it to Loestrin and Yasmin ( I know that Yasmin has a diiferent type of progestin in it).

Thanks!
