my gyno recently switched me from ortho-tricyclen lo to ovcon 35. i was on OTCL for 8 months, and had very little problems except for mood swings and bad headaches. since switching, ive experienced:
1) very bad abdominal pain/cramping. (i was put on the pill mainly because of problems to do with pain and cramping, but i didnt have these effects on OTCL, except before and during my period. im really nervous/upset about this!)
2) nausea, even though i take the pill at night. could this be from the change in estrogen and progesterone?
3) very little appetite and gas.
i took all my ortho-tricyclen lo on time every night, and i started the ovcon when i would have started a new pack of OTCL. i take it every night at the same time. i had a period which lasted all 7 days. are these symptoms common? im petrified of pregnancy. i have a tendency to be very paranoid, someone please reassure me this happens when you switch!!

Hi there!
Most likely, your body is adjusting to the switch...stick with the ovcon for 3-4 months to see if the symptoms ease up after you adjust.
