I think cost varies a lot with where you are & which pills you are taking. Here (Alberta, Canada) I was paying around $45 for three months worth of Triphasil.

I think most people would agree that ANY price for birth control is still cheaper than the cost of raising a child!

Side effects vary from woman to woman and pill to pill. There is really no way to know how you will be affected without trying.... sorry!

Hi rdheadck!

I know you could call around to various pharmacies where you live. At my boyfriends' pharmacy cash price for BCP runs around $30 - $36 a month, depending on which one it is.

Also, maybe someone else might know better but can't you get them at Planned Parenthood? I'm not sure about that one.

Side effect vary from person to person. I personally have never gained weight while on the pill, but certain pills have made me extremely moody!

Hope that helps!

I know you can get birth control free at any Planned Parenthood in your area and at the hospital if you make it under a certain amount of money a year. You need to show them 3 pay stubs consecutive to each other.

About the weight gain, yes, I think some do make you gain weight, but in my own opinion, it is for a good cause!

Like the other's said, expect $20-$40/month if you're paying full price.

I didn't know you could get birth control from student health clinics! : )

rdheadchk, I also wanted to add that it's ok to ask the doctor to switch to a different pill if you don't like the side effects you are experiencing. Like a previous poster said, you won’t know unless you try.
