Making the switch patch to ring

I live at an overseas military base, so our pharmacy isn't just the best in the world, but my Doc has put in a request to get the Ring special ordered for me:) The request will go in front of some sort of board meeting that should be held within a month or so and they will decide if they will get it or not:) I'm soooo excited:) The patch has been fantastic, but my body is ready for something new. I have some hang ups with the Ring, but I know that i'm probably just being a worry wart. For example, I worry that it might slip out while I am sleeping or in the bathtub. I know that as long as it's not out for more than 3 hours I'm fine, but I can't help but worry. What have been your experiences on NuvaRing? Should I be concerned about it slipping out? I'd like to hear any experiences, good or bad:)

From what I have heard, women on the ring tend to love it. I wouldn't generalize that it could fall out while sleeping or in the bath... is it because you'd be paying down? MOST women don't really have a problem with it slipping down. Most women can pretty much put it there and not think about it for 3 weeks.
Unfortunately I was not one of these women :-( It's a great method, and the muscles are supposed to hold it in place. I don't think it was my muscles as much as it was that the ring was maybe too big for me. I dunno. So anyways, in the event that this does happen, someone gave me some advice (I am on the pill now)... rather than putting the ring in normally, sort of twist it into a figure 8 and double it over.
BUT first try it normally. I am guessing that you will probably have no problem. It wouldn't slip out just because you are lying down or whatever, just depends on the person.
Good luck on getting it approved! I am sure you will do just fine on it.
