I have been on the birth control patch for about a year now. My friend just found out that she is pregnant. She also was using the patch, she says that she got pregnant by rubbing her patch with rubbing alcohol before she put them on. This is supposed to remove the drug on the patch so that it becomes a placebo.

If anyone knows if this is true please let me know.

Awesome, now I can rest assure I probably won't fall off unless I do something totally stupid!! And out of the ordinary. Thanks again:) Oh yes, you said after you get out of the shower and towel dry off than put the patch BACK on, are you okay to take it off in the middle of your week, or are you just pertaning too putting on a new patch for a different week??

My patch feels like a very uncomfortable bandaid and that I just want to rip it off. I pulled up one side, not all the way, it's the side that really didn't stick down to well just al ittle piece, and I tried to pull on it, it's stuck on there pretty well!!! Will this hurt me when pulling it off? Or does the stickyness wear away along the road and by the time I need to take it off and replace it will it be easier to pill away from my skin. Will this harm me in any way?? Meaning, will I loose some of my skin in the process of pull it off?

It did kind of hurt pulling it off my abdomen, I guess the skin is a bit more sensitive there.
