I'm in the middle of my second pack of Yasmin. When i first started it i was moody...little things could make me cry. With my second pack i feel so depressed. Even when i talk to my boyfriend i feel nothing inside,it's almost like i'm empty. Also when we have sex i am always dry and of course we lubricate but sex isn't even enjoyable it kind of hurts even. I'm wondering if this is normal or if i should get off this pill becaust its' really freaking me out as to how numb i am lately. Also why is she calling it in three months from now? Isn't it ok to finish a pack and then start off on a new one?? Because she asked for my pharmacy number right away so i'm thinking maybe she meant she was going to call it in and see me in three months? i have no idea how this works...lol

Hi babeedoll,

You might want to call your doc and talk to them about it - generally the 'rule' is to give a new pill 3 full pill packs to give your body time to adjust, but with depression and moodiness...use your best judgement here.

Hi babeedoll. I took my last pill of my 1st pack of Yasmin 3/27 and don't plan on taking any more pills. I had been on Ortho Novum for many years, although I did change a few times due to generic, or getting them in Mexico! I did seem to have mood swings when I changed brands. I was pretty moody on Yasim, but I quit smoking Feb 16, so I thought it was that! I also thought that was why I was always hungry, but I saw another post where somebody said Yasmin made her hungry and gain weight! I've had to use a lubricant for several years now, so I didn't notice any change there, but seems like my libido was a little lower last month.

I would definitely ask my doctor before starting another pack.

If breastfeeding in public disturbs you, please feel free to put a blanket over your head or go finish your meal in the restroom.

Thank you both for your input! It's a hassle because from day to day it changes...one day i'm happy as can be the next i'm to myself. I called my gyno and told her the problem she said i could just come off of it and in three month she was going to call in a new prescription of something with a lower dose. Now if she calls it in in 3 months do you think it would be a safe idea to try a 3rd pack and see how i feel after that one to ultimately decide?

Hi babee,

I think it would be safe - it's up to you and your own comfort level.

I called my pharmacy and my doctor indeed called in a new prescription. What i think i am going to do is try a 3rd pack of yasmin and if i don't feel any better try the new pack that she prescribed for me. I'm in it this far i may as well give it one more month. Once again thank you all for your help and input!
