Weight gain with Yasmin 28?

Hi ladies,

This is only the second pill I've ever been on (I was on Ortho-Novum 777 for 10 years), and I never had any problems with weight gain when using that pill. I've been on Yasmin 28 for almost six months now (I started it right after I had my baby), and I think I'm gaining weight. Granted, I did just have a baby and I'm not working out like I used to, but has anyone else experienced weight gain on Yasmin 28? I'm trying to decide if it's the pill or my bad habits causing the weight gain.

Thanks,

Wendy

I've been on Yasmin for 3 months and haven't noticed weight gain. I was on OTC and immediatley gained 10 pounds. Still trying to work that off, but haven't gained any more. I am hungrier on Yasmin though.

I just went thru a month on my 1st Yasmin, after years of Ortho Novum. I have gained, but I have been hungry ALL the time!

If breastfeeding in public disturbs you, please feel free to put a blanket over your head or go finish your meal in the restroom.

I gained about 5-8 pounds. It was noticeable. I have been eating less and exercising more and still having a hard time with it.

On the other hand it had some good side effects-less pimples before period & less bloating before my period.

I am trying loestrin next month, because Yasmin did not fix my on-going btb problem. (had btb before Yasmin, it is not related.)

Good luck.

Hi pooky! Well when i first started Yasmin i noticed a little weight gain which i think was due to an increased appetite and some bloating. As soon as i saw a little weight i wanted off but now that i am on my second pack that has gone away. The appetite has decreased and i watch more of what i eat. It's so hard to tell because it's different for differen't people. I say try it out another month and see how it goes for you. GOOD LUCK!

I've been on Yasmin for 4 months and haven't had any side effects at all. I've actually lost weight with it. I agree with babeedoll, try it out for another month and see how you feel then.
