Pill doses?

Ijust started being on the pill- Ortho-tricyclen- I've been on it before- once a few years ago, but for dermatological reasons only (for about 6 months), and once a year ago, but only for a month (I was dumped). So I just started it a week ago Sunday, and I started experiencing a bit of spotting a couple days ago. I know that this can be a common initial side effect of the pill. However, someone (not a doctor, though) said that it's because I'm not on a high-enough dose. I've heard that the lower-dose pills are not recommended for larger women. But I'm only 5'2", petite, and weigh 100 lbs, and I'm pretty sure Ortho is the highest dose form. Does anyone know anything about this??

Hello!

Well some women do tend to have a lot of spotting with very low-dose formulations - but at this point, I would assume that you are adjusting.

NP- Thanks! I got my BCP from Planned Parenthood, and I think they pretty much just give everyone Ortho-tricyclen, unless they have weird medical history or something. And since I don't really know anything about the other types of pills, as far as dosages, etc, I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the info!
