Is it my BC, or am I really pregnant!!!!

Hi all. I'm back again.... and still confused as ever. Most of you know that I was recently switched to the patch because my doctor said my body just doesn't do well with horomonal BC pills. When I switched, the first and second day on the patch, I felt ten times better, every single symptom I had was gone except for the bloating, which I kinda figured would take longer than the rest......any who, I've not been on the patch for a full week yet (Wednesday ends week #1) but I have been experiencing some new symptoms that I've never had before. #1 being, my nipples are so sore, they feel like they are on fire at nights, and in the mornings they feel like they are burised. They are so sensative to touch and sometimes my bra rubbing up against them hurts most of all. That has been going on for about three days and nights, and I know that sore breasts is a common side effect to the patch, and any BC pill, but I have never had sore nipples like this even when I did get some back in the year they weren't this sensative, sore, and it didn't last this long! The aerols are also bigger and looking alittle darker, with tiny bumps on them and my veins are sticking out more. Another thing is #2, I can't find my cervix, no matter how high I try to go, nothing, and I'm urinating every hour and no matter if I drink anything, or even if I drink juice or kool-aid, my urine is as clear as running water, sometimes my morning urine has been pretty light yellow instead of that dark yellow cause you haven't gone for about 9 hours.

I started having some symptoms as before, like temperature raising, and the bloating is still there, my DH felt my stomach last night and whole cow it was as hard as a rock!! I had a dream a few nights ago that I had a baby, and he was beautiful, looked just like DH except he had my eyes, blue ones. Which is very uncommon cause DH is Hispanic and has very dark brown eyes so we're really not expecting to have any kids with blue eyes cause brown dominates over blue. ANd in my dream, the Doctor asked, "Now do you believe there is a baby in there?" This whole entire year I've pretty much felt like this, bloated, tremperature raising, and now sore nipples. Do you think that I could still be pregnant? Doctor didn't do any type of tests for pregnancy, just switched BC. Even since I've switched and started feeling better (feeling better but still looking pregnant thanks to the bloating) but I can't shake the feeling that I could still be! Should I test? Will the patch mess up a HPT?? Thanks ladies for your ears, now you may use your fingers and type me some responces back. Thanks in advance.

First thing, the patch won't affect the HPT's.

Hi wantsababy, welcome back!

Oh sweetie, I wish we could help! The patch sometimes takes a bit of getting used to, at least 3 months. I forget how long you have been on it now. Did you have a period or pill-period before you started the patch? If you want to you could spring for a HPT just to see, or wait until your patch-free week, at the end of your 3rd patch, and see if AF shows up. Hang in there!

Hugs,

I did have a pill period last month March 10-14. And so I started a new pack of pills after that. I was exactly two weeks into that new pack when I was switched to the Patch. My first patch is not yet up, well close, Wednesday I will switch, but since I was already two weeks into the pills would it be a bad idea to pretent that the two pill weeks was just two patches and this is my third patch and when Wednesday comes along just not put another patch on for my "patch free week" to see if AF comes?? Could it be a funky period? Should I expect it to be irregular just so if it is that it just might be my body reacting to the hormons?? Thanks for your responces.

Well, if it was me I would forget about the 2 weeks on pills and put on another patch on your patch change day. I would wait until I had correctly used 3 patches before I took a patch-free week. Otherwise it’s going to take that much longer for your body to become accustomed to the patch. I would want to get through the side effects of starting the patch as soon as possible. And, yes, when AF shows she might be a bit different.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice. Is a runny nose a side effect of the patch?? Well I guess I've had it for a while, is it a side effect of BC pills? I thought it was unusual that i was getting a "cold" this time of year, I usually don't. Back when I was taking the pill, I noticed I was having a stuff nose in the morning, but during the day it was perfectly find, until I went to work, than it would start to run, and when I'd blow my nose it was a yellowish discharge. It has been going on for a while, maybe a month now, I just never really thought about it and when I did I thought it was unusual, especially for me, to be getting a "cold" this time of year. Any advice about this?

You can get a cold at any time during the year...they're not common right now, but it's still possible.

Allergies are another issue altogether - and very common this time of year.

In that article that I read it did say that pregnancy can cause you to drop some of your amunities to some things that you had ammunities too. Allergies runs in my family, but I don't have it, thank heavens, my husband on the other hand has allergies terribly bad. He has yet to get them this year, I found that very werid me getting them when he should get them first. As far as having a cold, usually it should be gone with in what, a few weeks, I"ve had this for a month, if not more. BUt I don't have other cold symptoms, such as sneezing (unless I go into the sun which always happens to me, has happened for as long as I can remember (childhood)) coughing, aches and pains, sore thorats, itchy watery eyes......it's just the nose.

I never had allergies either until about 4 years ago...really stinks, but you can develop them later in life - especially if you move to a new region.

Thanks for keeping in touch, and now I have a different question, just cause I've read so much about it on other posts I've very curious and have no idea about it :) So maybe I can say that I'm a little air headed about it :) But can you tell me the different types of mucus and what they mean?? Thanks a bunch

The best way to understand cervical mucous is to pick up a book that comes highly recommended on this board: _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler.
