I am on LoEstrin Fe 1.5/30...I skipped my no hormone week for two months in a row...(February and March) and through the early part of February I was constantly spotting for a good two weeks straight and then it stopped...I have had no spotting or a period since...I took my last active pill on Saturday thinking I would get my normal period on Monday evening or Tuesday morning as I would have in the past...but it is now Wednesday evening and still no period...is this because I skipped a couple of months? Is this normal? Has anyone else ever experienced this after skipping?

Hi unexpectedow,

If you have been taking your pills correctly; on time, haven’t been ill and vomited or had diarrhea within 2 hrs. after you took your pill and aren’t taking meds or supplements that might reduce the effectiveness of your pill then you should be ok. Sometimes we can just miss a period which is a bit creepy. Even if AF doesn’t show be sure to start your active pills on time to retain your protection. If she doesn’t arrive by Monday I think I would test just to see where you are. Let us know how you’re doing, ok?

Good luck

Thanks for your response Jill.

I still have not gotten my period...I did start my active pills today as I should have...I also took a pregnancy test about a 1/2 hour ago and that was negative...I think I just messed with my system by skipping my period for two months...I will never do that again...that's for sure!

Some women taking high-progestin pills like Loestrin do start skipping periods on their own--it's not totally unusual, just not necessarily the most common scenario.
