help! question about seasonale

In the end of February I started taking seasonale. I have never been on any type of birthcontrol before. My gyno basiclly gave me the RX and never gave me any warnings about problems with the pill. I was doing fine on the pill until about 2 weeks ago when I had light bleeding, it has yet to stop. It says on the box to call after 7 days the nurse at my doctors office was very unhelpful. I was very scared until I found my way to this message board. I was wondering how long the bleeding is usually lasting in the first 3 month cycle. At any point should I be concerned that it hasn't stopped. Normaly I would just hold out and just give it time, but my boyfriends formal is in two weeks he lives out of town so I only see him once a month. I just don't want this to ruin the weekend for both of us. I know it is a silly question but is there any way to stop this bleeding. Thanks

I've been on Seasonale for almost a month now and I'm still spotting--it's a gooey, brown substance (sorry to be so descriptive!!) I wear a pantyliner during the day and I've found it stops by the afternoon--just be sure to shower before you see him and it shouldn't be a bother at all. Have fun!!

Hi,

I can totally relate. I was on Seasonale for two months, I bled the entire time, except for 9 days at the beginning and a day or two every so often. My doctor's office, too, was very unhelpful. Unlike others who have taken this, my bleeding was pretty heavy the whole time and I also had menstral-type cramps often. The only thing that stopped the bleeding was to switch pills. I know you are supposed to wait three months, but I did not have the patience to "have my period" for 30 more days, so I switched. I did bleed for about 4 days after I switched, but then I had no problem and on my new pill have had no spotting whatsoever (Ortho-lo I am on now). I hope it works out, whatever you decide to do. If you decide to stay on it and do keep spotting, make sure you are taking iron so you do not become anemic. :-) Good luck!

I have had the same experience on Seasonale. I've been on for almost 2 months now and have had continuous spotting or break through bleeding. I don't have the patience to wait it out and want to switch. What did you do when you switched? Just start Ortho-clyclen lo on any sunday?

My Dr.'s office hasn't been helpful and told me to just wait it out. They said they won't switch me in the middle of my seasonale pack and i have to wait out the 90 days.. SO my other option is to just stop taking seasonale and let my body re-adjust, wait for my period to come and hten start a new pill the sunday after my period, as you normally would.

Any suggestions from people who have switched?

Thx.
