late and worried

Ok, I am about 4-5 days late. This isn't completely out of the ordinary for me but what is, is that I have had all of my fun premenstrual symptoms for over a week and no period. Normally, I just have 2-3 days of these symptoms. Tender breasts(ok, not tender, painful!), slight cramping, attitude "problem" (i don't see a problem, personally lol), dizziness, etc.
My boyfriend and I use condoms - carefully. I have an appt to discuss a second form of birth control (for my own peace of mind) but I've been told before it's preferable that I not use the pill because I have a blood disorder and the hormones could exacerbate the condition. I may be willing to take that risk now. I was never in a rush to get the pill because 6 months ago, I wasn't sexually active.
What's the likeliness I'm just making it later by being so worried over nothing? or rather, could I be pregnant?

Early pregnancy symptoms & PMS symptoms are remarkably similar! Tender breasts are common, and it is possible to have cramps because the uterus is stretching (for me, they weren't *quite* the same as menstrual cramps).
If you are 4-5 days late, I think you should buy a pregnancy test & find out for sure. If it is negative, and you don't have your period in another week, I'd test again.
Either way, getting in touch with your doctor is a good idea. If you are pregnant, you have some decisions to make (and the more time you have to contemplate them the better) & if you aren't, you need some more reliable birth control! If you really can't handle the hormones, there are other methods that are more reliable (and enjoyble) than condoms, or can be combined with condoms.
I hope you get the results you want, come back & tell us what you find out?
your reply freaked me out but it was good to be aware of all of that. thanks!
