its the week before AF is supposed to come, actually i start the placebos in 2 days. the sunday i started my 3rd week on ovcon, i had brown spotting with a bit of red in it. it continued until today (my 5th day in the 3rd week) when im having something that resembles an actual period- all red, and doesnt have a discharge-like texture like ive been having.it isnt very heavy (i was mainly put on the pill for dehabilitating periods and cramps), but it isnt light enough to notice only when you wipe. i actually have to wear a panty liner. im also cramping a pretty good deal, so i have an idea that i should be getting my period, because all the months ive been on BC (i was on OTC lo for about 8 months before ovcon) ive cramped before getting a "withdrawal" period. is this my period starting early (im thinking i might need a higher dose of progestin, this never happened on OTC) or something else? ive had to urinate a bit more, and after reading some archives here and on other boards im thinking that it might be from my cramping and bloating, common side effects of the pill. also, reading on medical sites says that if you were pregnant, you wouldnt experience the frequent urination until the 6th-8th week of conception. besides that, when i do go to the bathroom, not a lot comes out, which ive read is common of other ailments. these problems occured after switching to ovcon, and i had my last period normally. i take all my pills faithfully, havent missed one or taken any late. i started my pack when i was supposed to. common sense would tell me im not pregnant, and that these are all from the pill..but please help me and give me some peace of mind!! :(

If this is your first month on Ovcon, then early bleeding would not be at all uncommon.
I think you have it about right, that what your experiencing is you body becoming accustomed to the hormones in your new pills. It can take 3 to 4 cycles for irregular bleeding and breast tenderness to disappear. If you have been taking your pills correctly as you say then I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Don’t over-think yourself. Try and relax and let your body sort it out.
Good luck
Jill
come to think of it, the frequent urination does come and go at times. i have a history to be quite paranoid!
this bleeding may have just been my period coming early. that happened once before to me on OTC in the same circumstance im in now- bleeding 2 days before expected lightly, then going into a full out period.
again, thank you for the reassurance :)
