Hi! I've been on Microgynon 30 for about 18 months now (I've just turned 21), no problems, no spotting, no side-effects, nothing. But the last couple of months, I've had slight brownish spotting two days before my period starts properly. I take the last of the 21 pills on a Wednesday and until recently my period would start very promptly at 8-9am on Sunday, but lately I've had the odd stain on the toilet paper on Friday, then bleeding starts as usual on Sunday. Everything else has been completely normal, no headaches, no cramps, period lasts c. 48 hrs as usual, no spotting at any other time, have taken all my pills within same 2-hour time-frame every day etc.. I didn't think it was worth bothering to see the doctor about this before my next check-up in a few months especially as I'm out of the country for a while, but I just wanted to know if this seemed worryingly out of the ordinary. (My Mum thought it might just be down to other little things like extra stress, but could this be the case on BC?)Thanks!

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. Our bodies change over time, even with the hormones of birth control pills in our systems. It would likely be a good thing to mention to your doctor, but I don't think it warrants an early appointment.
