iv been thinking of changing from ortho-try cyclen to the ring or the patch. i know thier both supost be just as affective as the pill. The pill semes to be a pain for me i kept forgetting so i had to set the alarm on my watch to remind my self to take it. i havent really had to many problems with side affects besise having trouble sleeping and it making me a little sick if i take it at night but if i take it in the morning im fine. I just wanted to get some opinions form women who have been using these two forms of bc. side affects pros and cons troubles with like dis likes etc. any thing you can think of. mabie it will help me with my decesion. thanks for your input ladies....

hi Julie,
I'm using the patch, and am pretty pleased with it overall.
One thing to note about the patch and the ring that differ from pills like otc - they give out that continuous dose of low hormones (unlike otc which is triphasyl... you know, with the three different doses of hormones).
I was initially on the ring and that did not work so well for me. BUT I think I was an exception, as most women LOVE it and have far fewer side effects. My problems were that it had trouble staying put (would kind of inch down), and that it made me EDGY as hell.
So that is just something you may want to note. But most people I know have loved the ring... it also gives you invisible birth control, so that is good.
I've used the ring for about 4 months. I've had minimal problems w/ it. During the first couple weeks I had terrible mood swings. (Then again I hadn't been on any other form of bc so the hormones were more of a shock to my body) Other than that I really haven't had any problems. I like that I only have to worry about it once a month. I'd never be able to take pills on a regular basis. I didn't want to be wearing a patch all the time. I'm only 20 and still wear the lowrise jeans and lil baby-t tops... chances are no matter where I put the patch it'd show. Don't need that. Had too many false rumors going around this town about me already. As for being able to feel it. I could almost forget it's even there. My bf says he can feel it everynow and then, but it's nothing to bad. Most of the time he doesn't feel it. All around I am very pleased by the ring.
Hope that helps a little
