Seasonale vs. Yasmin

Hello everyone. This is my first time in ivillage.com.

I have some concerns after my Dr. prescribed Seasonale. It has been prescribed to regulate my period, since they have become excessively heavy. I have read some information on Seasonale and on Yasmin. She prescribed Seasonale. However, after researching a bit more, I have found that there are alot of complaints about btb. I haven't heard this about Yasmin. In addition to regulating my period I would also like to have less of them so I thought Seasonale would be good.

Has anyone out there had any experience with either or both pills that you can maybe shed some light on the subject. I am a bit worried. The last thing I want is btb.

Thanks to all.

Check the bottom of the board and the other pages--there are a bunch of complaints about Seasonale. I've been on 4 other Pills and never had a BTB problem with any of them. With Seasonale, I've been bleeding for over a month.

There are a lot of complaints abotu Seasonale, but they are from people who are just starting. Like post 2 said, BTB is kind of expected. At first it sucks, but as your body adjusts to it, there is less chance of BTB. My doctor told me it would take at least 2 to 3 cycles for my body to adjust. That is almost a year, but I think it is worth it. So far I like Seasonale. I have had some spotting, but I expected it. The spotting did not start until what would have been my period if I wasn't skipping. Give it a chance. You are asking a lot of your body, give it time to adjust.

I don't know...I haven't tried Seasonale, but it just seems like a bad idea to go so long without getting your period. Yeah, AF is a pain and all, but I like the monthly reassurance that my BC is indeed working.
