spotting on bc and protection

Hi. This is similar to another post, but just different enough I decided not to hijack it LOL. I've recently switched pill brands and things seem to be evening out, but on my last pills, I had frequent spotting. It seemed related to how perfectly I took the pills. The more exact the timing, the less I spotted, but if I ever missed, even by 2-5 hours, for the next few days I would have cramps and spotting, sometimes continuing all the way till my inactive week. It felt like my body just really wanted to have a period, all the time, and only the perfect use of the pills held it back. It doesn't really matter anymore since I switched brands, but does anyone know if that meant those pills were not as effective on me for some reason? If you can feel an immediate response or change in your body after missing a pill or being late, does that mean you are at a higher risk for pregnancy?

No. The mechanism that prevents bleeding is different from the mechanism that prevents ovulation (and hence pregnancy). You are obviously very sensitive to the levels of hormones in your body & irregularity in taking the pills can cause spotting for sensitive individuals.
