I just started my first depo provera shot yesterday after being on desogen and before that, ortho-tricyclen lo for about a year. After reading all the horror stories posted about depo, I am really nervous about it. I did lots of research before I decided to get the depo shot but I was wondering if anyone has had a positive experience with it, or anyone can tell me (somewhat) what to expect when switching from pills to depo. Thank you! =)

Apparently you did your research and decided what you thought may be best for you. Everyone reacts differently to the shot, so only time will tell if it truly is right for you or not. Best of Luck!
SugarTits
Pros: Not having to worry about taking a pill every day.
Cycles ranging from NO period to very LIGHT period.. a welcome change from heavy periods.
Cons: Slight side effects: acne, gained 10-15 lbs, lots of spotting in between cycles, PMS seemed worse
Be careful of your calcium... I've read that depo saps your calcium absorption, so make sure to take those supplements.
