Well, couldn't feel the strings today...so I went to the doctor and he can't either. They did a PG test which is negative though we had sex on Wed of this week so that won't show. He started me on emergency contraception and I'm having a sono on Monday to see if it expelled. He says that would be really odd for it to do that and me not know it. Has a feeling the strings worked their way up inside...but he wanted to be better safe than sorry with the contraception. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

My first IUD perforated through. It was upside down in my uterus w/the shaft poking through and into my abdomen from my uterus. I had to have two surgeries to remove it because the first was laporascopic and they coudln't find it with that or hysterescope because scar tissue had covered over teh whole back of my uterus. They didn't want to risk hysterectomy until I signed consent and had a larger abdominal opening so I had to hav ea second surgery where they actually cut your stomach open. She scraped some of the scar tissue away and found the end of the IUD and pulled it out through the top of my uterus in my abdomen because it was upside down. Thank god it didn't have the upper Tpart embedded in my uterus because they would have probably had to do a hysterectomy. Not trying to freak you out or anything. I am just saying it does happen. A lot of doctors don't believe it can but it does. I have had two IUD's since then!!!! That is how much I love the IUD compared to hormonal methods.

(((Hugs for you!)))

That totally sucks! Chances are that you didnt expell it though. I know I would notice that chunk of plastic stuck in MY vagina! I'm sure that if it had perforated your uterus, you would have at least some degree of pain. But since you didnt mension pain, I'm assuming that you dont have any so chances are that the whole thing is just sittin in your uterus. At least it isnt a MAJOR medical mishap! Things like this happen to women with IUDs everyday.

Hang in there girly! It will get better. :)
